Žurnalas “Esquire paskelbė 7 mirtinų nuodėmių tyrimą, pagal jį nustatė, kad pati nuodėmingiausia šalis pasaulyje - Baltarusija. Antroje vietoje -Rusija, trečioje - Kazachstanas. Mokslininkai tai nustatė tyrinėdami statistiką 169 pasaulio šalių nuo 2000 iki 2008 metų.Pesimizmas buvo skaičiuojamas pagal savižudžių skaičių, pyktis - pagal žmogžudystes, apsirijimas- pagal mėsos vartojimą, savanaudiškumas - pagal korupciją, gašlumas - pagal prezervatyvų naudojimą ir gimimų skaičių,pavydas - pagal emigrantų skaičių, išdidumas -pagal interneto dienraščių skaičių. Toliau pagal “nuodėmingumą” šalys išsirikiavo taip - Estija, Ukraina, Lietuva, Latvija, Vengrija, Somalis. Lietuva užėmė pirmą vietą pesimizmo - savižudybių indekse. Pati pikčiausia - Kolumbija, savanaudiškiausia - Somalis, išdidžiausia - Singapūras,gašliausia - Honkongas, pavydžiausia - Surinamas, o apsirijėlių šalimi pripažinta Prancūzija. Mažiausiai “nuodėmingos” šalys - Beninas ir Zambija.
